Community Petition: Support for Deaf Gamers

This in from Max Ryser: I was wondering if you'd do not only me, but also thousands of other deaf videogamers a favor... I'm trying to have a petition signed by as many people as possible so that I can show game developers that there IS a need for them to include at least an on/off option for subtitles in videogames/PC games.

I for one think that this is a very worthwhile cause (as far as videogaming and PC gaming are concerned, of course), and it'd help tremendously if people started voicing their support for their fellow deaf gamers and game developers took notice.

And a recent update:

I got an e-mail from Cameron Ferroni at Xbox.com, saying that they got my e-mail and are looking into it -- so that's good, but more publicity definitely needs to be generated to really apply the pressure on Microsoft and other developers in order for the whole cause to succeed.

[mekkanik_mike] Anti-spam drive now in progress...Posted:Mon Nov 16 04:28:30 2009
Due to the sheer number of spam showing up in the ARS system, we have decided to clean it out. The first phase is already under way with more than 2000 diaries containing spam in the top level content cleaned out. The corresponding users have been disabled. However, I suspect that I have also taken out about six to eight legit ones. So if a) you have created your account after 1st Sep 2009, and b) your diary did not have any posts, you may see that your account has been disabled as a spammer. That being the case, please email activemods at this domain to get your account reenabled.

Thanks,
Mekkanik Mike.

[Didactylos] THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF COMPUTINGPosted:Sun Nov 15 18:04:34 2009

3000 YEARS! Team UserFriendly.Org has contributed an astounding three millennia to World Community Grid. All this in less than four years!

Thank you all for your amazing contribution, and remember - it's never too late to join Team UserFriendly.Org

Facebook post NEW FACEBOOK APPLICATION: Team UserFriendly.Org is proud to present a new application on Facebook that allows you to post about certificates and badges, feature your favourite projects, and much, much more. If you use Facebook, this is for you! It's a great way to introduce your friends to World Community Grid without scaring them off.

The application has so many features I can't possibly describe everything here. Why not take a little guided tour to get an idea of what you can do?

In other news: Team UserFriendly.Org is still in the top ten teams, but the path to finding treatments and solutions for AIDS, cancer and world hunger is a long one. We're in this for the long haul, so I hope you will stick with World Community Grid and Team UserFriendly.Org for as long as it takes.
